Trusted Coverage for Federal Employees
GEHA has spent decades serving federal employees, retirees, and their families through the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP), and Peachtree Corners Dentistry is glad to welcome GEHA members. Since many GEHA patients are enrolled through FEDVIP rather than a typical employer plan, the benefit structure works a little differently than commercial dental insurance — something our team is well versed in.
How GEHA Dental Plans Are Structured
GEHA offers two main dental plan tiers under FEDVIP:
- The High plan, which includes broader coverage for major services like crowns, bridges, and root canals
- The Standard plan, which leans more toward preventive and basic care with lighter coverage on major procedures
- Both plans typically increase coverage percentages the longer you stay continuously enrolled, similar to a loyalty structure
What Coverage Usually Looks Like
Preventive care such as cleanings and exams is generally covered at or near 100 percent under both GEHA plans. Basic procedures like fillings often fall in the 70-80 percent range, while major services such as crowns or root canals vary more significantly between the High and Standard tiers. Because FEDVIP enrollment periods and plan years follow federal scheduling, we always verify your current plan year status before treatment.
Claims Handled Without the Hassle
Our office files GEHA claims electronically and manages the back-and-forth directly, so you're not stuck dealing with federal benefit paperwork on your own. For larger treatment plans, we'll request a pre-treatment estimate so you know exactly what GEHA will cover in writing.
