Regain Strength in Your Smile

How Are Inlays and Onlays Applied?

The typical procedure for inlays and onlays requires one or two appointments. During the first visit, the dentist will remove the old filling or damaged portion of the tooth and prepare it for the inlay or onlay. An impression of the tooth will be taken and sent to a lab for fabrication. A temporary sealant will be applied, and a follow-up appointment will be scheduled.

During the second appointment, the dentist will remove the temporary sealant and check the fit of the inlay or onlay. If it fits properly, the dentist will bond it to the tooth using a strong resin and then polish it for a smooth, natural-looking finish.

What Are the Advantages of Inlays and Onlays?

Inlays and onlays require minimal removal of tooth surface, preserving more healthy tooth structure while effectively restoring damaged areas.

Natural Look

Inlays and onlays blend seamlessly with your natural tooth color, making them virtually invisible compared to metal fillings.

Great Fit

Unlike metal fillings, inlays and onlays won't expand or contract with temperature changes.

Longevity

These restorations can last up to 30 years, making them more durable than other types of fillings.
